Real Experience With Working Dogs
Von TyrWald was built on the real-world experience of Rui Navarro and Sandra Freitas working with dogs every day.
Over the years, we have built a strong track record in dog training and development, particularly in the family protection space through our company, TYR Protection Dogs.
We work daily with German Shepherds, from early development through adulthood, preparing dogs to live in family environments with stability, control, and real capability when needed.
That hands-on experience gives us a practical understanding of what separates a good dog from a truly complete one.
We do not rely solely on theory or traditional breeding concepts. Our work has to deliver results in real environments, with real clients.
That same standard is what we bring to Von TyrWald.
Every decision, from selecting breeding dogs to raising and developing each puppy, is based on what we know works in practice.
More than a breeding project, Von TyrWald is a natural extension of our daily work with dogs.

Who We Are
Rui Navarro has spent more than 25 years breeding, training and working with dogs, with a clear focus on Working Line German Shepherds and family protection dogs. He is the founder of TYR Protection Dogs and shares much of his day-to-day work with dogs on his YouTube channel, where owners can see how our dogs are raised, trained and handled in real situations.
Sandra Freitas is co-founder and obedience trainer. She is closely involved in raising every litter, in the early development of the puppies and in the obedience foundation that makes a working dog pleasant to live with. Together we are the people you speak to from your first message until long after your puppy has gone home.

Why We Started Von TyrWald
For years, much of our work was with adult dogs: selecting them, training them and placing them with families as protection dogs. That work showed us, again and again, how much depends on genetics and on the first weeks of life. Nerves, stability and the ability to switch off at home cannot be trained into a dog that does not have them.
Von TyrWald exists so that we control that foundation ourselves. We breed the kind of German Shepherd we want to work with every day: a dog with real drive and capability, but also the clear head and balance that a family home requires.

How We Raise Our Puppies
Our puppies are raised in close contact with people, not isolated in a kennel. From the first weeks they are handled daily and gradually exposed to new sounds, surfaces, people and situations, always at a pace that matches their age. We pay close attention to how each puppy reacts, recovers and explores, because those early observations are what allow us to match the right puppy to the right family.

Honest Guidance, Not a Sales Pitch
A Working Line German Shepherd is not the right dog for everyone, and we will tell you so if we believe it is not the right fit for your situation. Before recommending a puppy we want to understand your home, your experience, your family and what you expect from the dog. We prefer to place fewer puppies well than to place many in the wrong homes.
We also encourage every buyer to ask questions about the parents, their temperament and their health, whether they buy from us or from anyone else. A serious breeder should be comfortable answering them openly.

Support After Your Puppy Goes Home
Our relationship with a family does not end on collection day. Because training is our daily work, we can guide you through the stages that matter most: the first weeks at home, socialisation, obedience foundations, adolescence and the development of a stable adult dog. Owners can contact us whenever they need advice.
